Horseback Riding Along Terskei Ala-Tau Range (T - 01)

Duration 12 days. May – October

Itinerary

Day-1. Arrival at Bishkek, transfer to Bishkek hotel. PM drive to Ala-Archa.
Day-2. Road transfer to Karakol (380 km) driving on the north coast of
Worlds 2nd largest mountain lake , enroute visit historical Burana
tower of 11th century, and Cholpon-Ata rock carving dating to 2nd
century BC Upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day-3. Visit Mosque, Cathedral church and Bazar. Overnight at hotel.
Day-4. Drive to AK-SU canyon (8 km) and start ride to AK-SU waterfall-bath
in mineral spring dinner and overnight in tents.
Day-5. Ride on horse to Altyn-Arashan gorge, hot spring bathing , dinner
and overnight in tents.
Day-6. Excursion to Keldyke canyon on horse back , optional on foot hike to
Ala-Kul pass 3650m. Dinner and overnight in camp.
Day-7. Horse riding through Altyn-Arashan gorge to Karakol gorge . Dinner
and overnight camp by the river side.
Day-8. Horse riding through Karakol gorge for close views of Karakol Peak
5281 m. Dinner and over night in camp.
Day-9. Horse Trek to Dzety -Ogyz gorge via Telety pass. O/N Tents
Day-10. Across Dzty-Ogyz towards At-Jailoo pass. O/N Tents
Day-11. Traverse At-Jailoo pass south coast of lake Issyk-Kul and drive to Bishkek enroute
visit Cholpon-Ata rock carving dating 2 nd century. O/N Htl.
Day-12. Transfer to airport Manas (Bishkek) for your return flight.

TO THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF TIEN SHAN (T-09)

Duration 21 days. July – August

Itinerary

Day-1. Arrival in Bishkek Check in a hotel.
Day-2. Transfer to the Issyk – Kul lake. Hotel.
Day-3. Transfer to the Dzhergalan gorge and a short walk to the camp site.
Day-4. Cross the nameless pass 2800m.Ascent time from the stop to the pass
is 2-3 hours. Descent from the pass to the Dzhergalan river along the narrow
gorge 1.5 hour. Descent from the pass to the Tjup river valley. Altogether the
hike time is 6-9 hours.
Day-5. Cross the Ashu-Tor pass to upper reaches of the Dzhanalach river which
flows into a wide valley. You can get acquainted with herdsmen?s life there.
Hike time is 5-8 hours.
Day-6. Hike to the south along the Dzhanalach river valley to Echkilitash pass
(4-6 hours).
Day-7. After 3-hours descent along the left slope of the Echkilitash gorge the part
comes to the Sari-Dzhas river. Here you should turn to the left. After 5 km you
should cross Sari-Dzhas and ascend to the Saridzhaski range along its tributary
the Tjuz river.
Day-8. Crossing over Tjuz pass (4001m).It is possible to by pass the glacier walking
on scree to the right. It takes you 3-4 hours to ascend the pass. Descend on the scree and a grassy slope to the Inylchek river. Hike time 6-7 hours.
Day 9-10. The lower part of the Inylchek glacier is covered with stones and moraines
and is not difficult. It takes you 10 hours to go to the Merzbakher glade, so it is
necessary to make intermediate overnight camp.
Day 11-12. Crossing the Merzbakher glade to the Inylchek camp. It takes you 12-14 h
so it is necessary to pitch an intermediate bivouac on the central moraine.
Sometimes, when you are crossing the ice-bridges, you must use roping.
Day 13-14. Two acclimatisation days in the Inylchek camp (4000 m). Radial Hikes to
get acquainted with the area and visit to moraine lakes. In the evening of the second day – cross the Zvjozdotchka glacier to Dike Peak.
Day-15. Ascend of the Dike Peak (5250 m). A nice view of the highest summits oh
Tien Shan opens from the peak. (Time of the ascent and descent is 8-10 hours).
Day-16. Return to the base camp.
Day-17. Helicopter flight to the Maida-Adir base.
Day-18. Bus ride over the Chon-Ashu pass to Issyk-Kul lake.
Day-19. Rest by the lake.
Day-20. Transfer to Bishkek. Hotel.
Day-21. Departure from Bishkek.

TO THE FOOT OF THE SKY MOUNTAINS (T- 08)

Duration 21 days. June - October.

Itinerary

Day-1. Arrival in Bishkek. City tour, visit bazaar, museum. Hotel.
Day 2-4. Trekking in Kyrgyzski Ala-Too. Chonkurchak- Chichar pass 2834m-Alamedin
gorge. Radial hike to the Salyk glacier to altitude of 3100-3300m.
Kumbel pass 2950m – Norus. Transfer 100km to the Boom gorge. Tents.
Day-5. Radial hike to the Konur Sai gorge with red sandstone rocks.
Day-6. Transfer to the Issyk-Kul lake. Hotel.
Day-7. Transfer to the Kashka – Su gorge. Crossing simple pass Chon-Kol-Dzhar
(3350m) to the Arashan gorge with hot springs. Nights in tents.
Day-8. Radial hike to the upper reaches of the Arashan gorge.
Day-9. Hike up to the Alakul pass 3700m with the nice view of the Terskei
mountain range and of the Alakul lake. Return to the camp.
Day-10. Transfer 145km over the Chon – Ashu pass 3822m to the Maida-Adir.
Day-11. Half an hour helicopter flight to the Merzbakher lake. Two nights in tents.
Day-12. Walks by the lake Merzbakher. Return to the camp.
Day-13. 15 minutes flight over the Inylchek glacier, the second biggest glacier in the
world. Arrival in the base camp at an altitude of 4000 m on the side moraine beneath
the Gorki peak.
Day-14. Crossing Zvjozdochka and Inylchek glaciers on moraine and iceslopes.
Night in tents on the moraine beneath the Dikii peak. There is nice view on the
northern wall of Pobeda and on Khan-Tengri from here.
Day-15. Return to the base camp.
Day-16. Helicopter flight to Maida-Adir and transfer to the Issyk-Kul lake.
Day-17. Rest by Issyk-Kul lake.
Day-18. Transfer to Boom gorge. Tents.
Day-19. Rafting on the Chu river.
Day-20. Transfer to Bishkek. Hotel.
Day-21. Departure from Bishkek.

Trekking to Korona Peak. (T-06)

Trek to half – round icy Korona peak in Kyrgyz Ala-Too range providing 360 degree panorama of the range , Chu valley and Bishkek from the top. Hiking to Uchitel peak does not require special equipment and preparation but only desire to ascend this panoramic peak to see all peaks of the range and glaciers of Ak-Sai and Adygen group. Difficulty grade is elementary and one with moderate fitness and altitude acclimatisation is capable to undertake this trip.

Duration 8 days. May – October

Itinerary

Day-1. Arrive Almaty and transfer to Otrar hotel for overnight.
Day-2. Drive to Bishkek. PM city tour, overnight at Dostuk hotel.
Day-3. Transfer to Ala-Archa nature park 40Km at 2100m and trek to Ak-Sai water
fall approx. 5km at 2800m. After lunch stop continue hike to Alpine ratsek clearing 3km at 3300m with a nice view of Ak-Sai glacier and Korona peak.
Day-4. Continue to Korona clearing near an ice fall 5km at 3800m (6-8 hours).
Day-5. A long day of hike to the top of Korona peak 4860m and descend back to the
Korona clearing at 3800m.
Day-6. Descend to Ala-Archa Mountaineering camp and drive back to Bishkek,
overnight at Dostuk hotel.
Day-7. Excursion to Issyk-Kul lake 280km , the Gem of central Asia and the 2nd
largest mountain lake in the world , return to hotel for overnight.
Day-8. Drive to Almaty and after city tour transfer to airport for you return flight.

Day-9. Drive from Kegety gorge to the area of Kok-Top peak (4250m).
Day-10. Ascend the Kok-Tor peak and return to camp.
Day-11. Drive to Bishkek and transfer to hotel, PM free dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day-12. Drive to Almaty and after city tour transfer to airport for return flight (Average
5-6 hour walks of easy to moderate grade not requiring technical skill but good fitness).
